Almighty God, your son, made the blind see, the deaf hear, the lame walk, and cast out demons. We place into you care all who are ill in mind or body. We pray that you will grant them your comfort, and release them from pain, discomfort and anxiety. Grant them strength to bear the burden of their illness and to regain their health. When their sleep is disturbed and they awake tired irritable grant them patience, peace and rest.
May those who provide medical care do so with professionalism and care for each person as they would wish to be care for themselves.
We pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
One God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, how good it is when people live together in unity. Forgive us that we tend to seek that which divides us from one another. Forgive us when we allow our differences to separate us, when we seek revenge and fail to be neighbourly, loving one another as you have taught us to do.
Mend our broken relationships. Heal our divisions. Grant us the strength to forgive, and to accept forgiveness. Help us to love, particularly when loving is difficult and demanding. May your peace be in our hearts, and our words full of your grace.
Amen.
Healing God, be with all who are ill, those at home or in hospital. We cry for those for whom the nights are long and sleep escapes them. We cry for those whose life sustaining drugs cause debilitating side effects. We worry for those who cannot get the diagnosis or the treatment they need swiftly enough. Help us to be active in dealing with all that causes people to wait in pain, discomfort or anxiety whilst they seek a health care appointment, test results, or hospital treatments.
Bless those who devote their lives to healing and helping all who are ill and all who are recovering. Given them perseverance, resilience, and compassion. We pray for those across the world for whom any kind of health care is a distant dream. Help us to value the care available to us in our own places.
I name before you Lord, all known to me who need medical care today ...... bless them and heal them. May they know of your love for them and feel your presence with them. Amen.
